Job Details
The Patient Relations Assistant is a first-line customer service representative for UK Healthcare. Primary duties include: maintaining ideal patient flow, fluidity of patient care, registration, copays, multiple appointment scheduling, and increasing opportunities for excellent customer service with our patients and their support. Other duties include: Proficient patient registration, using electronic tools to ensure patient insurance eligibility, and ensuring the accuracy of patient registrations. Appointment scheduling is also a major job responsibility, and the Patient Relations Assistant will schedule and reappoint patients accurately according to scheduling protocol, schedule ancillary/diagnostic tests, as well as ensure timely and appropriate follow-up with patients or referring physicians on all appointment requests.

Research
In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts. UK is one of only eight universities across the country with the full range of undergraduate, graduate, professional and medical programs on one contiguous campus, leading to groundbreaking discoveries and unique cross-disciplinary research and scholarship.
