Operations Manager, Pre-Collegiate Studies

Position Overview
Reporting to the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies year-round Operations Team and working closely with senior residential staff, the Operations Manager serves as a liaison between the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies main office and the residential sites to ensure all summer programs are operating smoothly. This is a full-time position.

Your responsibilities as Operations Manager include:

  • Supervising eight Operations Coordinators, including four Supplies Specialists, a Fleet Specialist, two Food Specialists, and a Technology Specialist
  • Holding the Summer Operations Staff accountable for completing both individual specialty and shared responsibilities
  • Overseeing the procurement, preparation, and delivery of program supplies and materials
  • Managing the delivery of snacks, mail, educational materials, and other supplies
  • Coordinating distribution of supplies for Arrival Days and retrieval of supplies for Departure Days, as well as other special events
  • Maintaining a system for tracking supply requests, purchasing orders, and arranging for distribution
  • Guiding the proper organization of supplies within Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies storage spaces
  • Tracking expenses and following budgets, in accordance with Stanford policies
  • Fostering and promoting an inclusive environment for all participants, staff, and SPCS community members
  • Guiding participants in educational initiatives centered around individual development, wellness, community engagement, and inclusion
  • Assuring the well-being of participants by helping them physically navigate campus and off-campus locations and completing rounds of multi-story buildings to conduct wellness checks
  • Leading and participating in afternoon, evening, and weekend recreational and social activities

    To be successful in this position, you will bring:
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and logistical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to lift at least 45 pounds
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • The readiness to attend approximately ten hours of pre-summer meetings and trainings during Spring Quarter (some of which can be done online)
  • Availability for mandatory training from June 17 - June 23, 2019

    Additionally, you will preferably bring:
  • Management experience
  • Experience planning events or activities coordination
  • Availability from mid/late May - mid/late August, 2019

    The standard salary for the Operations Manager is $1,475/week plus a full room and board package. This position is exempt and is therefore not subject to overtime pursuant to state and federal wage and hour laws.

  • Online High School (OHS) Summer @ Stanford| August 6 - August 19, 2019
