California State University, Fullerton (Cal State Fullerton), a comprehensive public university located in the heart of Southern California, seeks an exceptional leader to serve as President. Cal State Fullerton is a leading campus of the CSU, serving as an intellectual and cultural center for Southern California and driver of workforce and economic development. It is an emerging national model for supporting diverse students through innovative, high-impact educational and co-curricular experiences.

Standing on 241 acres at the heart of Southern California, the university was founded in 1957 and has grown into a population of about 40,000 students. Cal State Fullerton is a large, comprehensive, urban university with more than 4,100 full-and part-time faculty and staff members. The university offers a broad spectrum of degree programs in liberal arts and sciences as well as applied and professional fields with 56 programs at the baccalaureate level and 54 graduate programs including a doctorate in education and doctor of nursing practice. Cal State Fullerton combines the best qualities of teaching and research universities where actively engaged students, faculty and staff work in close collaborations to expand knowledge. Research and other creative activities are enhanced by the proximity of the campus to nationally recognized business, cultural, and educational institutions. Faculty members were awarded more than $27.2 million in grants and contracts for research and scholarly activities in 2017-18. Cal State Fullerton is the largest of the 23 California State University (CSU) campuses. Reporting to the Chancellor of the CSU System, the President serves as the chief academic and administrative officer for the Fullerton campus. The successful candidate for this position will leverage Fullerton’s many strengths – including its exceptional campus diversity and its proximity and connections to innovative businesses across Southern California – and lead this vital institution to fulfill its potential as a globally distinguished university working in service of an important public mission.
