Research Associate

Job description

Our laboratory studies the mechanisms and functions of the proteasome, a molecular machine for controlled protein degradation. We are looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow, who is interested in investigating the function of the proteasome assembly chaperones (Park et al. Nature 7450, 512-6 [2013]; Park et al. Nature 459, 866-870 [2009]); the four chaperones, Rpn14, Nas6, Hsm3 and Nas2 are evolutionarily conserved and regulate the formation of the 19S regulatory particle of the proteasome. The prospective Post-Doctoral Fellow will work on several aspects of the two related manuscripts on understanding the function of Nas6. Nas6/Gankyrin is also a well-established oncoprotein in humans. These projects have critical implications in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, molecular chaperones, and also tumorigenesis. A combined approach of biochemical, genetic and proteomic approaches will be used. To learn more about our research, please refer to the website ( ).
