Assistant or Associate Professor in Athletic Training

The College of Health Sciences, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Division of Athletic Training is seeking a faculty member in the Athletic Training program. This position will begin August 2019 in an eleven month term. Rank will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, and the position will be responsible for the following:

•Teach in the Master of Science in Athletic Training program in the College of Health Sciences.
•Contribute to the transition of the post-professional to the emerging professional Master of Science in Athletic Training program
•Collaborate within the College of Health Sciences, as well as other appropriate departments across the University
•Contribute to research and scholarship within the department, college, and university
•Pursue independent research agenda with extramural grant funding
•Serve as an advisor for research conducted by undergraduate, masters, and/or doctoral students
•Participate in department, college and university service

An earned Doctorate with emphasis in an Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Area or related field

Required Related Experience

•Instructional experience in a CAATE accredited athletic training program
•Demonstrated record of Athletic Training/Sports Medicine-related research, publications and scholarship

Required License/ Registration/Certification

•Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC)
•Eligible for Kentucky Athletic Trainer State Licensure

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?

Preferred Education/Experience

•Demonstrated experience in teaching in the areas of injury assessment and treatment
•Clinical experience in the management and treatment of athletic injuries and physically active populations.
•Record of intramural and/or extramural grant funding
•Demonstrated ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate student research
