Position Summary: This position, which reports to the Associate Director, is responsible for the supervision of all specialized venue operations, technical support, and event production for CURRENT ArtSpace + Studio - a flexible use black box theater and a multipurpose rehearsal and event space off campus in Carolina Square - and the numerous performances, community activities, and rental events that take place in those venues. This position also assists with technical support and event production in Carolina Performing Arts' other venues as needed. As a member of the Production team, the Technical Services Manager assists in training and supervising approximately forty part-time student employees and a contracted technical staff of as many as twenty-five, and is responsible for developing and implementing technical training programs specific to CURRENT and its facilities, equipment, and unique requirements. Technical and event support will include live multi-channel audio mixing and recording, designing and operating lighting utilizing computerized light control and dimming systems, rigging, smart classroom technology, multimedia laptop support, wireless internet configuration, PowerPoint and other presentation software, data and video projectors, video conference codecs, and live web streaming. The Technical Services Manager carries the direct responsibility for the overall quality of the performer's and audience's experience. Specific job duties must be fulfilled will little to no direct supervision. The successful accomplishment of these responsibilities directly contributes to the image and reputation of Carolina Performing Arts and the University for thousands of patrons and countless UNC students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the position's role. - Computer coursework may be substituted year-for- year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Journey level requires an additional six months experience
