Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree Preferred.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

2 years of professional experience in a higher eduction setting is required. Experience with multicultural programming, recruitment and retention of underrepresented students, and residential learning communities for undergraduates strongly preferred.

Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for the Business Emerging Leaders Wisconsin School of Business Pre-College Program. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the Director of Pre-College Programs and supervises the Graduate Assistant team; providing leadership, programmatic and organizational direction, and support students.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for supervision of program peer counselors, Graduate Fellows and coordinator of BEL staff and volunteers. They will also create and maintain documents for tracking information before and during the program (student class and activity attendance, incident reports, visitors, etc.). The Assistant Director will run and coordinate evening workshops including: soliciting speaker appearances, room reservations, and other logistical concerns aimed to connect BEL participants with campus resources. Additional responsibilities include: leadership in planning, preparing and executing all BEL special events and activities, oversight and facilitation of engagement activities, SOAR, weekend programming and field trips, opening and closing weekend, assisting with the organization of study tables, and campus partner relations. The Assistant Director will also facilitate a non-credit capstone experience for our year three BEL students. The Assistant Director will also be critical in ensuring compliance with state and campus regulations and policies for running a pre-college program.



Additional Information:

This position may require some travel and work on evenings and weekends.
