Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Teacher Education and Administration seeks a Senior Lecturer of Early Childhood Education for the grades EC-3 and EC-6 initial teacher certification programs and the M.S. in Early Childhood Education program, with the appointment beginning in Fall 2019. This is a non-tenure track, one-year appointment (with the possibility of renewal) at a salary that is competitive and commensurate with rank and experience. All standard University of North Texas, College of Education, and relevant Department of Teacher Education and Administration faculty personnel rules and procedures apply to this position.

Responsibilities include teaching four undergraduate and/or graduate courses each semester of the academic year (fall and spring). These courses may be in the grades EC-6 initial teacher certification programs and/or the M.S. in Early Childhood Education program. Other responsibilities include contributing to program development and student support and engaging in departmental and program-area initiatives. In addition, this position may include .25 FTE to collaborate at the UNT Child Development Lab. Summer teaching is possible but is dependent on budget and demand.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have an earned doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in early childhood education. Also required is teaching experience in grades EC-3 and leadership and management experience in early childhood learning centers. ABD candidates will be considered as long as the dissertation is successfully defended prior to the position start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who have teaching experiences in higher education, teaching experience with diverse student populations, especially ESL and bilingual children, and experience as director/supervisor in an early childhood center.
