Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Educational Psychology invites applications for two tenure track appointments at the Assistant Professor rank to begin Fall 2019. The positions are for applicants with expertise in Learning Sciences. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the continued development and success of the department, contributing through research, teaching, and mentoring of students. Instructional roles include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in traditional and online formats and potentially at satellite locations. Courses may be taught across multiple programs and to both students preparing to be practitioners and those preparing to be researchers. The successful candidates will be expected to develop or continue an ongoing research agenda in their area of specialization, including regular publications in quality outlets, professional presentations, and submission of external grant proposals. Service on dissertation committees is expected, as well as representation of the discipline and department via committee participation and other relevant service activities. Minimum Qualifications:
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in a field related to the Learning Sciences (e.g., educational psychology, cognitive psychology, etc.), and a research agenda appropriate for publication in, for example, the Journal of the Learning Sciences. ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date.

We seek applicants whose scholarship corresponds with the global conversation related to learning sciences, may advance understanding of the learning process within diverse social, cultural, and political environments and address issues of equity, power, and justice in educational contexts, community settings, work/play spaces, and in family life.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include a demonstrated research program within the STEM disciplines or other curricular areas and/or workplace and informal learning contexts and/or a demonstrated research program focused on PreK-12 learners in formal and informal contexts.

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and research experience, as well as external funding or the potential for external funding, commensurate with rank.
