Job Summary/Basic Function:
The successful candidate will be expected to immediately contribute to the continued development and success of the department and growing the special education concentration through research, teaching, and mentoring of students. Instructional roles include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in traditional and online formats. The successful candidate will be expected to develop or continue an ongoing research agenda in their area of specialization, including regular publications in quality outlets, professional presentations, and submission of external grant proposals. Service on dissertation committees is expected, as well as representation of the discipline and department via committee participation and other relevant service activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in special education. Doctorates in a closely related field will be considered as long as the clear purpose of the degree is special education. ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
Record of research about high-incidence disabilities, especially emotional and behavioral disorders and children identified with learning disabilities in mathematics to work with teams in STEM education; record or clear prospects of external funding of research.

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and research experience, as well as external funding or the potential for external funding, commensurate with rank.
