Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of English at The University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in British Romanticism, with an emphasis on poetry. Secondary fields of interest include but are not limited to Victorian poetry, gender and sexuality, race and empire, the medical humanities, and ecocriticism. We seek a dedicated scholar and innovative educator eager to work with a highly diverse student body. Normal teaching load is 2/2, with regular opportunities to teach upper-division and graduate courses. Considerable research and travel support is available. Review of applications will begin 11/1/18.
Located in the rapidly growing and culturally vibrant Dallas/Fort Worth area, UNT is a Tier One public research university; our department offers M.A. and Ph.D. programs in literature and creative writing and houses the journals Studies in the Novel and American Literary Review.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in English with a concentration in British Romanticism or Ph.D. in closely related field; a strong record of teaching; and a burgeoning record of scholarly publication required.
