The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, (TAMU-CC) invites applications for a 12 month, full-time, tenure track position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The Associate Dean for Research, Innovation and Clinical Practice is responsible for leading and facilitating nursing research, scholarship, education and practice innovations for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and is a key member of the Dean's senior leadership team. The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Facilitate the expansion of innovative nursing research and research training across the college.
  • Facilitate the attainment of extramural research funding across clusters of investigators.
  • Provide strategic leadership in creating a research vision and identifying unique, interdisciplinary research opportunities.
  • Seek and advocate for resource allocation to and manage resources.
  • Collaborate in and initiate the recruitment of research-intensive faculty.
  • Act as liaison to and facilitator for inter-institutional and inter-disciplinary research and research training initiatives.
  • Interface with the campus Division of Research, Commercialization and Outreach.
  • Develop and create visibility for college-aligned research and research training across constituents.
  • Broker partnerships with community leaders and agencies for synergistic research and practice improvement initiatives.
  • Provide needed information and data used in the preparation of annual reports, accreditation reports and other related surveys.

The successful candidate is expected to reside in the Corpus Christi, TX area and maintain a campus presence as part of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences faculty.

Required Qualifications:
  • PhD or comparable research degree in nursing or related field
  • Prior administrative experience in an academic setting -e.g. as department head or associate dean

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience across all levels of nursing programs (BS, MS, and DNP)
  • Demonstrated record of research and publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
  • Administrative experience supervising grant preparation, financial management, compliance, and reporting
  • Substantial record of intramural and extramural research funding
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas, or eligible for licensure in Texas
