Job Description: Teaching 1. Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching with a proven track record of effective teaching. 2. Teaches on-campus and on-line courses primarily in the health systems management undergraduate and graduate programs as assigned; may teach in other programs based on expertise and School need 3. Employs a variety of innovative teaching techniques to promote critical thinking and achieve course outcomes, including but not limited to lecture, simulation-based learning, experiential and service-learning, project-based experiences, and case studies. 4. Develops linkages with local and regional healthcare organizations and professional associations to support educational mission 5. Demonstrates a clearly developed philosophy of and pedagogy toward teaching consistent with the values of the School and University 6. Maintains certification in area of specialty expertise, if applicable Scholarship 1. Supports the research/scholarly mission of the School and/or University. 2. Demonstrates a defined area of content expertise and interest for scholarly activities. 3. Demonstrates ability to successfully conduct research/scholarly projects, consistent with educational preparation 4. Disseminates research/scholarship to students through teaching, presentations, and publication of journal articles on the application or education of healthcare administration Service 1. Actively serves as a member of School committees and/or task forces. 2. Participates in University and School activities. 3. Participates in community outreach activities that promote health and improve health systems. 4. Attends School and University events. 5. Attends and assists at conferences or workshops involving School or University at local level. 6. Maintains availability to students for coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications: 1. A doctorate in healthcare administration, health services research, or closely related field is required. Qualified applicants may have a relevant applied doctorate such as DBA or DPH. 2. Content expertise in healthcare administration or health systems leadership or management is required. 3. Prior higher education teaching experience in both traditional and on-line formats is strongly preferred, including ability to teach across undergraduate and graduate program levels. 4. Applied experience in a healthcare leadership or management position is strongly preferred. 5. Demonstrated capacity to conduct research or scholarly projects consistent with rank is expected.
