Advertised Job Summary: The University of South Carolina is seeking a talented and creative social media video producer to join our award-winning social media team. The ideal candidate will be a passionate self-starter with exceptional working knowledge of social media best practices and trend watching to help align the look and feel of our main, institutional (@UofSC) accounts (as well as university-affiliated accounts) with brand standards. We're looking for someone who thrives during each stage of the creative process, with a propensity toward telling stories using compelling videos to a hungry - but busy - social media audience. The perfect candidate will be an out-of-the-box but within-the-brand thinker with a portfolio of sharp video work already under their belt. This position will collaborate closely with many stakeholders in the division of communications and public affairs including, but not limited to, staff videographers/photographers, designers, writers and a team of talented interns to ensure that the content we publish is optimized for each platform we use. The ideal candidate will also be a deadline-driven, energetic multitasker who thrives when juggling several different to-do list items and doesn't wait around for a staff meeting before tackling the whole list. This person is organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about social media, video trends and all things #UofSC. The perfect candidate should also be able to understand, summarize and describe to stakeholders how and why certain pieces of content resonate with audiences more than others, what makes certain content worth sharing and the importance of engagement as a metric of success on social media. Responsibilities include:Creative Execution: Consistently ideate, shoot and produce branded digital media creative assets including, but not limited to: graphics, gifs, short videos, infographics for a social media audience. Assist in the digital asset creation for university aggregator accounts including, but not limited to, @UofSCImpact, @DegreesOfHealth and @UofSCEvents Analysis & Collaboration: Analyze content posted to university-level accounts and make changes based on performance/audience reaction. Brainstorm content ideas with other creatives on the team and pursue good ideas based on data, strategy and best practices. Monitor the internet for brand-relevant trends and communicate with the senior social media strategist to execute on appropriately joining trending conversations Workflow Management: Track projects from start to finish using internal database. Use best practices for digital asset management to ensure easy archival and retrieval of branded digital media assets

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Bachelor's degree in a related field and professional experience; experience producing creative digital and video content for a brand or organization; razor-sharp portfolio
