Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutics



The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with an anticipated start date in Fall 2019. We are interested in a wide variety of research emphases in pharmaceutics. The successful candidate will complement existing departmental strengths in drug discovery and development in therapeutic areas of substance use disorders, cancer, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases and metabolic syndromes, and neurological dysfunctions. Further, there are excellent opportunities for interaction with researchers in the Medical Center (www.mc.uky.edu/), including the Markey Cancer Center (ukhealthcare.uky.edu/markey/). Of particular interest are candidates with research interests in formulation and delivery of biologics; personalized, on-demand formulation; and gene or cell therapies.

Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree and have a record of publishing their work in peer-reviewed journals. Evidence of an ability to obtain extramural grant support, a commitment to teaching within professional and graduate programs, and a philosophy to use in mentoring students at all stages of development is expected. Responsibilities for the successful candidates include establishment of an independent research program that is supported by awards from extramural agencies, contribution to the teaching mission of the College of Pharmacy to the PharmD and PhD programs, mentoring for undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and departmental, university, and profession service.
