Veterinary Technician Clinical
Perform clinical rounds, administer treatments and perform tasks as directed by veterinarians. Provide surgical support, post-operative care and research support as needed. Restrain, bleed, administer medication, analgesia, anesthesia and euthanasia of all animal species. Participate weekend and holiday on-call duty rotation of Clinical Vet Techs; maintain a tracking database(s) of all medical cases and treatment. Assist in maintaining medical and surgical records of all species. Enter diagnostic lab results into relevant medical records and databases as needed. Assist in maintaining quality control and controlled drug records. Oversee environmental enrichment programs; Maintain clinical areas and supplies inventory. Assist in sentinel program. Perform blood, urine and fecal testing. Assist with diagnostic tools including MRI, ultrasound, radiology, necropsies of all animal species. Provide technique and informational training to researchers and animal care staff. Write/review SOPs. Other duties as assigned; Improve knowledge of laboratory animal science by reading professional publications, participating in AALAS and preparing for certification exams, presenting a positive role model for co-workers, assisting investigators and promoting the health and welfare of laboratory animal science; Provide daily care of laboratory animals and other duties as assigned.

LVT-Licensed Veterinary Technician for Kentucky.
Lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 lbs.
Monday - Friday 7:30 - 4:30; Holiday rotation, on-call and some weekends possible.
