Job Details

The Department of Surgery/Cardiac at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine seeks a board certified/board eligible critical care physician to join their thriving community based group in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to inpatient and outpatient care in cardiac surgery service, rounding in the ICU and other inpatient units, thoracic organ procurement and assistance with thoracic transplants, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). You will participate in heart and lung organ procurement and implantation service including the screening, selection and follow up on cardiothoracic patients and adult cardiac surgery service within the Department of Surgery, Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. You will participate in the management of patients in cardiovascular surgery service and thoracic transplant service in the ICU, other inpatient units and clinic. You are expected to participate in procurement, thoracic transplant, shock and adult cardiac call at Temple University Hospital and at any other locations served by the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery including all established and future campuses and partner sites. Call schedule are determined by the Chief of the Division. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Applicants must possess an M.D. or D.O or foreign equivalent. Surgical residency and additional fellowship training in Cardiovascular Surgery, Heart and vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, or comparable training. Possession or eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. BE/BC by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or foreign equivalent (board).
