Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Global Training Initiative (GTI) at North Carolina State University enhances international partnerships and global competency among NC State students and faculty, businesses in North Carolina, and people around the world through a variety of short-term academic programs and training opportunities. The GTI partners with NC State units, North Carolina businesses, federal and state agencies, and overseas partners on academic and internship opportunities, international grants and short-term professional training programs.
Essential Job Duties: This position serves a critical role in providing assistance in the coordination of education and international training programs for the GTI. This individual will work with international applicants, students, interns, trainees, and speakers for short-term academic and work-based programs. This individual will also reach out to faculty, university administrators and faculty, government officials, and industry professionals to foster new partnerships. Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Develop and manage (or assist with) professional training programs 2) Provide logistical support (scheduling, transportation, program coordination, communications, etc.,) for GTI programs 3) Develop curricula, new media solutions, DE or video sources, and other materials to meet the educational and training needs of the GTI
Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in relevant field (i.e. business, education, communications, international studies, tourism management)
Department Required Skills: - Excellent communication skills (oral and written) - Experience building and maintaining relationships with diverse groups - Good computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and Windows OS
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: - Fluency in English and Chinese - Experience in oral interpretation and/or written translation - Ability to drive 15 passenger vans or larger vehicles - Experience with event management, delivering training programs, volunteer recruitment, catering and hospitality - Familiarity with NC State University and the Raleigh area (or willing to learn)
Necessary Licenses and Certifications: NCDL required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
