The Science and Mathematics Department at Texas A&M University - Central Texas is seeking applicants for adjunct instructors. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to teach an upper level course in one or more of the following areas: Proteomics (with a lab), Molecular Biology (with a lab), and/or Virology. Experience and enthusiasm for teaching and working with undergraduate students is essential. A Master's degree in biology or related field is required, Ph.D. is preferred. Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in biology or related field and undergraduate teaching experience
Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in biology or related field
Job summary/Basic Function: Primarily responsible for the teaching/learning process. Adjunct instructors are hired to teach on a temporary and part-time basis. Adjunct instructors teaching courses for credit must meet the same requirements for professional and scholarly preparation as their full-time counterparts teaching in the same discipline.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in teaching in Proteomics, Molecular Biology, and/or Virology.
Show an expertise in and commitment to undergraduate biology education.
Exhibit enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and employing innovative teaching methods.

Description of Job Responsibility/Duty:
100% - Teaches an undergraduate level class as needed. Writes syllabi for the courses to be taught using the approved format of the College of Arts and Sciences. Work closely with laboratory coordinator for laboratory sessions (if there is an associated lab section). Meets with students enrolled in their classes when students need additional assistance with class material and assignments.
