Position Summary:

The position of Out-of-School Time (OST) Quality Supports Program Coordinator will supervise implementation of the Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI) and will support out-of-school time programs in meeting the quality standards for Better Beginnings. This position reports directly to the Director of Childhood Services.

This position is governed by institution policy. This position is funded by an external source and the appointment shall not continue beyond the date funding ceases. This position may be located anywhere in the state of Arkansas; it will require regular travel to sites throughout the state.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage all activities using the Youth Program Quality Intervention, to include self- and external assessments, training, coaching, technical assistance, and multi-year program improvement plans.
  • Develop, deliver, and/or coordinate additional training and technical assistance services to support quality OST programming not specifically outlined in the YPQI.
  • Develop systems to recruit, train, and supervise quality coaches, trainers, and technical assistance consultants.
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of OST stakeholders, including the Arkansas Out of School Network, funders, site directors, and direct service staff.
  • Develop and facilitate presentations at local conferences or learning community gatherings regarding the YPQI or other OST topics.
  • Serve as one of the network leads in terms of communication and supports for the YPQI with the project developers, the David P. Weikert Center for Youth Program Quality.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of short- and long-term goals related to Childhood Services projects.
  • Represent Childhood Services and OST programs at meetings of stakeholders and funders.
  • Follow Childhood Services procedures and compile information for reports and evaluations for internal and external use.
  • Participate in evaluation and review of Childhood Services projects.
  • Establish an in-home office area to maintain files and documentation needed to complete the duties of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellent computer, oral, written communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

Ability to develop/analyze programs, work effectively as a team player with staff and other education agencies, and assess tasks that arise unexpectedly and take necessary initiative to handle effectively.

Perform mission related responsibilities as required or assigned.

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Other:

1. Knowledge of and experience with OST program evaluation tools and state quality standards.

2. Knowledge of best practices in youth development and OST programming and in program
management.

3. Experience with data collection and reporting.

3. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.

4. Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

5. The ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-term goals.

6. Skills in organizing, prioritizing, and implementing projects and in supervising staff.

7. Skills in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with web-
based applications is also necessary.

8. Experience working with out-of-school time program evaluation tools and state quality standards

9. Experience supporting the professional development of other adults as a trainer and mentor/coach

Minimum Qualifications:

Formal education equivalent of a Masters or Bachelors Degree in Education, Human Development, or related field

Three (3) years or more of experience in classroom/out-of-school time program; at least one (1) year should be in an administrative role
