This posting will serve for multiple openings

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

• Provide fitness training instruction to clients.
• Develop and maintain a personal training clientele.
• Perform exercise testing and prescription for new members and personal training clients.
• Conduct weight room orientation and fitness clinics designed to educate both new and current members.
• Teach fitness classes and boot camps as needed.
• Maintain working knowledge of progressive trends in fitness training.
• Assist with facility quality including cleaning of equipment and reporting of issues.
• Provide excellent customer service to all Ritchie Center guests.
• Attend regular staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintain a current personal trainer certification from a nationally accredited organization
• Maintain a current CPR/AED/First Aid certification by American Red Cross Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Possesses good time management and timely communication.
• Ability to be customer service oriented with great hospitality skills.
• Ability to move about the Ritchie Center while transporting equipment or objects up to 50 pounds.

Required Qualifications

• National Personal Training certification through ACE, ACSM, ISSA, NSCA, or NPTI. (Other national certifications will be accepted at the discretion of the Director of Ritchie Center Programming.)
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification by American Red Cross or ability to become certified prior to starting.
• Up to date with required continuing education requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ year's personal training experience.
