This posting will serve for multiple openings
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions
- Provide fitness training instruction to clients.
- Develop and maintain a personal training clientele.
- Perform exercise testing and prescription for new members and personal training clients.
- Conduct weight room orientation and fitness clinics designed to educate both new and current members.
- Teach fitness classes and boot camps as needed.
- Maintain working knowledge of progressive trends in fitness training.
- Assist with facility quality including cleaning of equipment and reporting of issues.
- Provide excellent customer service to all Ritchie Center guests.
- Attend regular staff meetings and trainings.
- Maintain a current personal trainer certification from a nationally accredited organization
- Maintain a current CPR/AED/First Aid certification by American Red Cross Additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Possesses good time management and timely communication.
- Ability to be customer service oriented with great hospitality skills.
- Ability to move about the Ritchie Center while transporting equipment or objects up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- National Personal Training certification through ACE, ACSM, ISSA, NSCA, or NPTI. (Other national certifications will be accepted at the discretion of the Director of Ritchie Center Programming.)
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification by American Red Cross or ability to become certified prior to starting.
- Up to date with required continuing education requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ year's personal training experience.
