Greenfield Community College is located in the beautiful and historic Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, between the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and the fertile farmland of the Connecticut River watershed. GCC is a public community college serving over 4,800 people annually in credit courses and credit-free workshops. Known for the caring and supportive attitude of the faculty and staff, and for the broad support it enjoys from the surrounding community, the college is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition to a strong Liberal Arts focus, the College offers a wide variety of innovative and successful programs including Gender and Women's Studies, Fine Arts, Nursing, Renewable Energy, and Outdoor Leadership, as well as varied learning environments, from traditional classrooms, to distance learning, peer tutoring, one-on-one faculty-student advising, workforce development, and learning communities that cater to specific needs and interests. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Teaches clinical components of Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Psychiatric-Mental Health, Obstetrics, and/or Pediatric course(s) in Associate Degree Nursing program. Responsible for instructional preparation and assessment of student performance; provides assistance to students by appointment; and attends a limited number of faculty meetings, including program orientation, orientation to clinical facilities and clinical team meetings. May be required to participate in service learning activities; clinical affiliations may include long term care, rehabilitation and/or community sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Requires a B.S.N. degree and five years of relevant clinical experience OR is matriculated in a graduate nursing program and has minimum of two years relevant clinical experience.
  • Appropriate licensure
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Current malpractice insurance

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Collegiate teaching experience
  • Experience in long term care and/or community nursing
  • Knowledge of service learning
  • Commitment to the mission of the community college
  • A demonstrated commitment to promoting domestic diversity and/or global multiculturalism in the curriculum where appropriate.
