Scope of Job:
The Department of Public Affairs and Security Studies at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) occasionally has the need to hire non-tenure track Part-Time Lecturers to teach minor degree courses in Public Administration (PA) and Global Security Studies (GSST) in its undergraduate program.

UTRGV faculty are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the university, college, and program missions, as well as a commitment to UTRGV's vision, mission and core priorities (http://www.utrgv.edu/strategic-plan/strategic-plan/index.htm).

Minimum Qualifications:
The qualifications to be considered as a Part-Time Lecturer is a Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Global Security Studies (International Relations) or a related field of study (18 hours of graduate coursework in Public Administration or Global Security Studies) from an accredited institution of higher education.

Preferred Qualification:
Teaching experience is desirable, as well as ability to use technology to support teaching and learning. ABDs or Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Global Security Studies (International Relations) or closely related field of study (18 hours of graduate coursework in the respective discipline) from an accredited institution.

Salary: Part-time Lecturers are paid per course taught commensurate with experience and/or qualifications.
