JOB DESCRIPTION
The Nurse Practitioner will provide the following services to individuals serviced by the Student Health Services: first aid, health education, outreach; diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems; family planning and treatment of STD's; perform and interpret lab tests, health screening; and work in a collaborative relationship with physicians.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Nursing with two years experience in the discipline; AND
Valid California Registered Nursing License.
Valid Nurse Practitioner Certificate.
California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number.
Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree preferred.
CPR Certificate. Two years experience in ambulatory care and adult health. National credential by ANCC in area of adult or family care strongly preferred.
Experience in college health is desirable.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
On-call, hourly and part-time. Acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), transcripts, fingerprint results, and tuberculosis examination as required. Candidates selected for employment will be required to provide verification of work authorization in the form of a passport, valid driver's license, or other equivalent identification, and social security card.
PART-TIME SALARY RANGE
Part-time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is $87.55 - $105.47 (lecture), $66.35 - $79.92 (lab) per hour depending on education and experience.
