The Department of Teaching and Learning in the School of Education and Human Development seeks applications from qualified persons for the position of full-time Research Assistant Professor in order to expand the research portfolio of the Department. This will be a 9-month position, renewable every year contingent on an annual performance review and the availability of funding. Initial start date may be negotiated.

Minimum Requirements: Ph.D or Ed.D. degree in Education or related field; track record as Principal Investigator on at least two multi-year, federally funded (e.g., National Science Foundation, Institute of Education Sciences, etc.) research grants related to K-12 teaching, student learning, professional development, or related area; evidence of high scholarly productivity, especially first-authored publications, in nationally recognized outlets; research funding sufficient to cover 100% of salary and fringe benefits for at least 2 years from the time of hiring.

Duties of the position: The primary responsibility of the Research Assistant Professor is to conduct education research of national significance and to continue to seek grants that will support both the faculty member her/himself and doctoral students in the Department. The successful candidate may be asked to serve on doctoral dissertation committees in her/his area of expertise. Teaching is not required, but the hiree may be invited to teach, and be compensated for teaching, a doctoral seminar in his/her substantive or methodological area. The hiree will also be expected to provide service to the Department and the University in the form of participating in departmental meetings, serving on departmental committees, and other activities commensurate with the position.
