Advanced IBD Fellowship July 1, 2019- June 30, 2020
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Division of
Gastroenterology and Crohn’s and Colitis Center are announcing a 1 year
Advanced IBD Fellowship for qualified, board certified or board eligible
individuals who will have completed an adult or pediatric gastroenterology
fellowship within the last five years. The year will combine clinical IBD
training, advanced IBD-related procedures, and research. Procedural skills
include chromoendoscopy, deep small bowel enteroscopy and perianal
endoscopic ultrasonography. Approximately 25% of the time will be devoted
to clinical and/or translational research in inflammatory bowel disease,
which includes genotype-phenotype studies using our IBD registry and
investigator-initiated and pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials.
Educational exposure to the role of mucosal immunology, genetics, and
intestinal biology in caring for IBD patients will be stressed.
Candidate must have or be able to obtain a full Florida Medical License
