Lead Psychiatrist, CAPS
The University of Georgia’s University Health Center seeks candidates for the position of Lead Psychiatrist in Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS). This position is full-time, twelve-month, and benefited. This position reports to the Senior Director of CAPS, is administratively responsible for the oversight of outpatient psychiatric services, and supervises psychiatric staff and the clinic assistant. This position also provides expert consultation to staff throughout the Health Center and participates in Medical Staff oversight of safety and quality in care provision.
Minimum qualifications are an MD or DO Degree and completion of an accredited psychiatric residency, BC/BE in psychiatry, and licensure in the state of Georgia.
Desired qualifications include familiarity and skill with brief assessment, crisis intervention, completion of an accredited child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship, one year of clinical experience in a university counseling or mental health setting, and/or one year of experience as a consulting psychiatrist in a Collaborative Care Model or similar.
