The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia ( is seeking applications for Director of the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study (SCWDS) located in Athens, Georgia. This faculty appointment may be filled at rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. The SCWDS Director is responsible for all operational activities of the unit including budget development and management, supervision of professional and technical staff, and management of SCWDS’ quality research, teaching, and service programs. The SCWDS Director works closely with faculty and staff to coordinate wildlife health research and service activities among the 18 state wildlife management agencies that are members of the cooperative as well as agencies within the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Health and Human Services, and the Interior as well as other organizations. This position has a significant commitment to administration with additional responsibilities in service, research, and/or teaching depending on the interest and expertise of the candidate and the needs of SCWDS. The Director reports to the Head of the Department of Population Health.
