Working Title: Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice/College of Liberal Arts

The Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley invites applications for a full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin Fall 2019. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to applicants with substantive research and teaching interests that complement the department’s curriculum and may help fill departmental need. The successful candidate may teach a mixture of upper-division and graduate level courses in their areas of substantive specialization and required lower-division general (e.g., Introduction to Criminal Justice) and specialized courses (e.g., Police Systems and Practices). Additionally, scholarly productivity and engagement in service activities are expected. UTRGV is a distributed institution with campuses and offices throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Successful candidates are expected to use technology and alternative delivery methods to maximize our students’ success and make education more affordable to students.
