Position Description: The University of Northern Iowa's College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences-Department of Art is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor to teach three courses per semester in Art Education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels with possibility of periodic graduate level teaching in summer for additional compensation. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching the departmental foundations sequence or general education program as needed. The successful candidate will establish and maintain an expanding record of scholarly work; contribute to curricular development of the M.A. program; provide service on department, college, and university committees; and act as student advisor.

Education Requirements: Ph.D. in Art Education or Ed.D. required.
Required Qualification: Required qualifications include strong oral and written communication skills; successful art teaching experience in K-12 classroom (two or more years preferred) with knowledge of current Art Education pedagogies; and active research agenda in the field of Art Education.
Desirable Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with previous university-level teaching experience in courses related to research in art education; commitment to school/department service and program leadership statewide; experience with technology integration in teaching and learning; experience with community engagement, diverse populations, and inclusive arts practices.
