Professional Research Assistant

The Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes, Anschutz Health and Wellness Center and Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a full-time entry level Professional Research Assistant for a position in clinical research studies. The incumbent will work under the supervision of two Principal Investigators. Although the primary responsibility of this individual will be to assist with an ongoing weight loss study, the incumbent may be asked to assist with multiple studies being conducted by the two Principal Investigators. This is a full-time, benefited position, with varying/flexible work hours, including some evening and/or weekend shifts. This is an at-will position meaning an employee can be terminated at any time without notice and severance pay may not be provided.

Duties include but are not limited to assisting with recruitment and screening; scheduling of study research appointments and orientations of volunteers for research studies; assisting with performing outcome measures (e.g., metabolic rate measurements), sample collection and processing (urine and blood); overseeing reporting and regulatory compliance; and performing data entry, quality control of research data, and data management.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Public Health or a related field.
  • Prior experience as a Professional Research Assistant and specific experience with human subject research and regulations highly preferred but not required.
  • Strong skills and knowledge of various Microsoft Windows applications is highly desirable.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent oral and written skills with including the ability to develop solid rapport with others.
  • Self-motivated, a proactive learner and able to collaborate with a variety of investigators and individuals on our research teams.
