Primary Function of Organization Unit: The University Cashier's Office is a large and complex department responsible for institution wide activity. The department has frequent contact with students, parents, academic and administrative departments across campus, as well as non-university companies and state agencies. Annually, the department processes in excess of $100 million in deposits for campus departments, and is responsible for the billing and collection of more than $200 million for student tuition, fees and other charges. Maintenance of an effective system to process departmental deposits and a highly accurate, transparent system of student financial records is critical to the cash flow of the University.

Essential Job Duties: Cashier responsibilities will include: * Providing cashiering support for all student account payments and deposits from on-campus departments * Processing student payments, departmental deposits and corporate payments and releasing holds * Scanning all checks and keeping a daily log * Processing all monies received from armored car vendor and preparing bank deposits * Providing back up support for armored car process * Balancing all work via daily balance and master balance sheets * Responding to walk-in customers, telephone inquiries, and returning calls when necessary * Handling research on student accounts, departmental depositors, and external banking agencies to resolve issues.

Department Required Skills: * Excellent interpersonal skills, a professional, cordial, and professional customer service attitude * Willingness to learn * Ability to follow policy and procedure, to think critically, and work well in a team environment * Experience handling cash transactions * Ability and flexibility to work in a fast paced environment

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Prefer experience working in a university cashier office setting.
