Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in marketing, communication, or related field.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required:
At least 2 years experience or training in marketing and event planning. Requires a working knowledge of UW Shared financial system (WIDSM/WISER) and knowledge of MS Word, Access, & Excel along with basic skills in database management.


Preferred:
Strong written and oral communication skills including web-based and social media. Excellent organizations, task management, and detail-orientated skills. Knowledge of State, University, and School policies and procedures relating to continuing education, conference scheduling, travel rules, budget processes, and financial record keeping.

Position Summary:

The Office of Continuing Veterinary Medical Education (CVME) is a section of the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) within the UW School of Veterinary Medicine. The (associate outreach specialist/outreach specialist) will provide a wide variety of program support assistance primarily to the Outreach Program Manager II as well as work with UW faculty, instructional academic staff and other project staff to support the functions of the program. This includes administration and coordination of approximately 30-40 adult outreach programs involving 1500-2000 participants yearly. This position works with continuing education user groups on new techniques and practices through meetings, workshops, conferences and preparation of publications and other means. This position requires knowledge of State, University and School policies and procedures relating to continuing education, conference scheduling, travel rules, budget processes, financial record keeping as well as knowledge of MS Word, Access, & Excel. Also, requires a working knowledge of UW Shared financial system (WISDM/WISER) and basic skills in database management. This position works under the general supervision of the CVME Outreach Program Manager II.
