Under general supervision, the incumbent will provide administrative program support to the faculty and staff within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The medical program assistant will provide the support necessary to assist in achieving successful performance of clinical patient care, teaching, research service, outreach and other activities. This position provides support necessary for coordination of outpatient and inpatient provider services and may include working with electronic health management systems.
This position will coordinate complex daily activities for the physicians in all areas. Good judgment, along with the ability to communicate effectively and confidentially with patients, referring physicians, residents, fellows and program leader is required.
The candidate must have excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills. The ability to work at a variety of tasks, and to take initiative that supports the mission are essential skills. This position requires a person who can function independently with general supervision as well as with a team to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency of the program.
