Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia's Office of Advancement is seeking a Data Processor for UVA Clubs and Global Engagement ("Data Processor"). The Data Processor performs data entry of event participants into the University's software systems and enters all UVA Club and Global Engagement events on the shared calendar platform. The Data Processor also creates and distributes registration lists for events, and creates name tags for select events. The incumbent provides weekly updates on event attendance and manages the logistical process to increase event participation. The position may coordinate with areas across Grounds for collaborative UVA Club and Global Engagement programs.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a Bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of one year of data entry experience is necessary. The successful candidate is able to meet deadlines; handle multiple projects simultaneously; and easily adjust to rapidly changing priorities. Excellent oral, written communication, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail, is required. Strong customer service and follow-through skills are a must. The ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and easily adjust to rapidly changing priorities is necessary. The ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with senior staff to effectively accomplish objectives is required. A working knowledge of event planning and/or alumni relations, a strong understanding of scheduling and meeting planning, and an understanding of the role of development activities as they support the University mission is a must. The ability to follow directions, and pay close attention to detail is required.

The incumbent must be able to create spreadsheets and have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to enter, retrieve and research data in donor database. Well-developed computer skills, and facility with web content management systems is required. The ability to understand and translate client online communication needs into effective web forms, pages and sites is necessary, as is the ability to quickly learn relevant computer software.

Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of basic statistical concepts, the ability to print labels, and a working knowledge of Access.
