About the College/Department
The Poultry Science Department consists of approximately 30 nationally respected faculty in various fields of study. Undergraduate, M.S. and Ph.D. programs are offered by the Department.
The Poultry Science Department/Center of Excellence for Poultry Science is housed in an 112,000-square-foot office, laboratory and classroom complex located on the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, campus. Additional poultry science facilities are located within close proximity to the campus and include a poultry research farm, a pilot processing plant, a feed mill, a poultry health and isolation unit, and commercial style research farms for broilers and broiler breeders.

Summary of Job Duties
The Fiscal Support Specialist reviews and audits documents to ensure completion, verifies codes, calculations, authorizations and additional required information. Documents are entered into internal university system to set up purchase orders and schedule payments. This position maintains manual and computerized files, reviews files for accuracy and corrects information as needed, communicates with outside vendors and other customers and assists department personnel with travel claims. Other duties include generating external and internal invoices, processing personal reimbursements for faculty, staff and students and running monthly foundation reports. General office duties include providing backup for fiscal support analyst and the department fiscal manager.

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of bookkeeping, basic accounting, billing, or related experience.

Associates or Bachelor's degree, experience working in BASIS, basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Knowledge of database accounting and management principles. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations of assigned section. Knowledge of computers and software application programs. Knowledge of customer service techniques. Ability to record fiscal data and manipulate data to generate complex reports and documents. Ability to conduct research and perform basic quantitative quality assurance reviews.
