Practice Manager III/UKHC

Job description

The Department of Surgery is currently seeking a Clinical Manager to operate in a Practice Manager III position. The primary responsibilities for this position include: operations to ensure smooth flow operations by directing the work of assigned staff, including general nursing staff, clinical assistants and administrative support staff; act as a resource to faculty, staff, providers and other individuals for all daily operational needs; review and coordinate faculty clinic schedules; ensure UKHC and departmental policy and procedures are enforced and routine facility/equipment maintenance is performed, as well as problems corrected and systems in place to ensure a safe and comfortable environment is maintained for patients. Other duties include: staff supervision and being responsible for managing recruitment, orientation, retention, and termination of clinic staff as well as managing staff mix, deployment and forecasting of staff to meet customer needs; provide staff disciplinary counseling as necessary and assist in corrective action plan; ensure completion of performance evaluations, competency assessments and staff competency through training and maintaining continuing education requirements; regulatory and governmental collaboration to ensure compliance with state, federal and regulatory agency requirements for facilities, clinical care and staff; and, when appropriate, works with the Medical Director and/or department level administrator to develop and implement new clinic-specific policies and procedures; administration to participate in department level committees to establish or improve customer service and administrative plans and policies. This position may serve on enterprise level committees as approved by direct supervisor/department administrator; review patient satisfaction surveys, ambulatory scorecard and develop corrective action plans if appropriate; develop, run, and participate in regular staff meetings; ensures quality assurance standards are met for patients; work with division and department administrators and Division Chief to support patient and community marketing initiatives; in conjunction with the Division Chief, Faculty Leadership and Department/Division Directors; assist in developing and implementing clinic-specific strategic plans and UKHC initiatives; maintain and update staff procedures, staff training programs and quality assurance programs; and ensure customer satisfaction by managing customer complaints and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through.
