Job description



The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for leading the UK HealthCare Accounts Payable team while working closely with Finance, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and University Financial Services. Responsibilities include: direct supervision of five Accounts Payable Specialists; oversight of Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing and monthly/yearly general ledger closing activities; resolution of internal and external customer inquiries with urgency, tact, and diplomacy; establishment and communication of standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency of the AP team and expedite workflow, and; operational improvement initiatives.
This position will function as the team supervisor and will report to the UK HealthCare Accounting Director.

Physical Requirements

Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time; occasional travel to/from campus from Alumni Drive for meetings.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstration of providing exceptional customer service; solid problem solving, project management, and organizational skills; ability to pay high attention to detail; strong analytical skills; understanding of effective internal controls; ability to work well with others, exhibiting tact, discretion, and diplomacy; proficiency using Microsoft Office programs including Excel pivots, functions and formulas, and; experience working with electronic accounting systems.
