Position Description
The College of Charleston Department of Mathematics invites applicants for an instructor position beginning August 2019. Applicants must possess at least a master's degree in a mathematical science by the employment start date. Duties primarily include teaching statistics, college algebra, pre-calculus and/or calculus, advising students, professional development in pedagogies that increase success in these courses, serving on department committees, and participating in the annual math meet. Since teaching is the primary responsibility of the position, a record of and potential for excellence in teaching mathematics is the most important component for ranking candidates. Since professional development and service are important and necessary responsibilities of the position, potential in these areas also factor into a candidate's ranking.
