WFSU-TV/The Florida Channel
The Florida Channel - located in Tallahassee, FL - produces 24/7, year-round coverage of all three branches of state government. Programming includes gavel-to-gavel coverage of a wide variety of state proceedings, along with a wide variety of documentary and public affairs programs and segments covering issues of interest and importance to all Floridians. The programming is delivered statewide by satellite and is also available on the Internet.
Serves as Master Control, capable of operating all equipment necessary to perform those positions effectively, including but not limited to traffic database software, graphics generators, television production switchers, video server and automation systems, the digital router, the intercom and the website content management system .
Serves as "chat" operator. Responsibilities include preparing and updating reference materials, making keys, creating new informational graphics as needed, troubleshooting problems with chat communications and computers, and informing the team leader or assistants of problems associated with chat equipment.
Serves as crew member for a variety of Florida Channel programming; other duties as assigned.
Associate's degree and two years of work experience.
(Note: or vocational/technical training/degree and two years of related experience.)
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Must be able to be capable of learning specialized software and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment.
Must be able to multi-task, troubleshoot, communicate effectively, adapt to change, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, computer literate, technologically curious,
Ability to use correct grammar and spelling.
Must be able to interact with co-workers and other departments in a professional manner.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain upon hire.
Anticipated Salary Range
Dependent on education and experience.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
Soft Money Funded Position
This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.
Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm; however, hours will vary and may include weekends and evenings. Flexibility is required.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
