Responsibilities

Responsible for the supervision of assigned Custodial Supervisor and Senior Custodial Workers. Managing of personnel and material resources to provide the highest standards of sanitation, security and maintenance of a large residence hall of 2 or more small residence halls.

Conducts a complete and thorough inspection once each month to determine needed repairs, issuing necessary corrective measures to maintenance mechanics and violations of housing contract to residence counseling staff. Insuring the highest standards of cleanliness and security to the residents of their residence hall.

Performs routine daily inspection of buildings inside and out; constantly aware of possible problem areas and informing maintenance or residence counseling staff of contract discrepancies as instructed by operation manuals. Submits requests for re-upholstery, pool table, carpet and other various vendor repairs to housing.

Coordinates with tradesmen on the accomplishment and quality of necessary repairs or follow up on why said repairs have not been corrected.

Plans and schedules work to be accomplished by custodial staff. Train new employees, conducts refresher meetings with custodial employees on administrative procedures and work techniques. Conducts training sessions on new and improved cleaning methods.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalency and two years of custodial work and supervisory experience.

Experience in various cleaning methods, and the use of tools, equipment, and chemicals.

Experience or knowledge and the ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to work weekends on occasion to accommodate the University's needs.

A valid State of Florida or Georgia License or the ability to obtain.
