Florida State University Research Foundation
Performs professional accounting work and assists the Assistant Director with annual financial and tax reporting, and implementation of policies and procedures relating to the accounting function for the FSU Research Foundation (FSURF). Perform audits of payment requests to confirm compliance with Research Foundation policies and procedures. This includes confirmation that adequate documentation has been included as well as assigning proper GL account codes to the disbursement, identifying the vendor codes, and verifying the vendor addresses.
Responsible for all aspects of check generation, including data entry into the system, check generation, check distribution, and ensuring the necessary tax forms are received from the payees.
Assist in quarterly and year-end reporting, including annual 1099 reports, annual abandoned property reports, and quarterly STAR METRICS reporting.
Serve as back-up in preparing daily bank reconciliation and monitoring of cash balances.
High school diploma or equivalency and four years of experience, or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to four years.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software.
Strong knowledge of accounting procedures.
Ability to adhere to ethical business practices and promote ethical behavior.
Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Bachelor degree in Business or Accounting.
Experience auditing payment requests and data entry.
Experience in disbursement processes.
Experience using Financial Edge.
Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipated salary is $28,000-$34,000 depending upon experience.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
