Assistant Professor of Physical Education

The School of Education and Human Development at Kentucky State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position as Assistant or Associate Professor in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, with an emphasis in Exercise Science. Master degree required and doctorate preferred in Exercise Science or related field. Professional experience as a practitioner in a field related to exercise science and in utilizing equipment/technology related to exercise science required. At least two years of experience in teaching undergraduate courses in health, PE, and/or exercise science preferred. The position requires adept utilization of at least two electronic data systems commonly used in higher education, including and not limited to a data management system (e.g., Banner, Oracle’s PeopleSoft); a course management system (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas); and/or a student/program assessment system (e.g., LiveText, Campus Labs).
Applicants must have skills in innovatively teaching undergraduate courses in health, PE, and exercise science; advising and supporting students; communicating professionally and effectively verbally and in writing; being open and able to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders in education, health, business, and the community; and writing and managing program grants with a team. Participation in professional organizations related to exercise science and education is expected.
