The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Core Education Coordinator (Academic Services Senior Professional) position.

Job Summary:

The Reporting Analyst position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in support to our campus partners for business decisions using various business intelligence technologies including reporting, data analysis, data mining, and text mining related to full life cycle of Sponsored Projects. Working closely with data owners and users, the reporting analyst will turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. A successful candidate will have a healthy appetite for challenging the status quo, looking beyond the obvious, and has great experience influencing change across a distributed system. This position reports to the Senior Director, Finance Office.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Work with business and information/data management to understand and prioritize data and information needs, including the enrichment of data for: classifications and roll-ups to support analytics; building expressions and calculations; working with data stewards to clearly define and document definitions and metadata.
  • Work effectively with internal customers to identify, estimate, prioritize, and resolve issues.
  • Extracts CIW data from various ERP systems and utilizes Tableau, SQL, SAS or SPSS and other tools to perform complex analyses.
  • Develop complex analytical reports, dashboards, performance metrics, and/or data marts for Financial Services including campus financials, grant proposals, contracts, awards and post-award data as needed.
  • Review existing reports, improve performance and visual representation of analytics.
  • Develop text mining process and tool related to a pre and post award data.
  • Participation in campus technology projects and initiatives, designing and developing new data marts and enhancements to existing data marts.
  • Collaborates with end users to encourage tool adoption including mentoring, training, and development.
  • Provide content for communications and training efforts.
  • Assist with BI strategic vision and subsequent implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Complete tasks to improve the predictability and repeatability of business intelligence processes.

Salary and Benefits:
The starting hiring salary for this position has been established at $70,000, and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of professional level experience with data warehouse concepts, database design, and/or data modeling.


Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience that demonstrates proficiency to expertise in writing SQL queries to perform data analysis and/or produce reports for business usage.
  • Hands on experience using reporting or dashboard software tools such as Cognos, Tableau
  • Exposure to and/or experience with star-schema design.
  • Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse and ETL.
  • Experience in development of data objects/data mart design.
