Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia's Information Technology Services is seeking a Classroom Support Supervisor for the 2nd shift. Classroom Support Services installs, maintains, and supports technology-enhanced classrooms provided by the Provost Office at the University of Virginia. The incumbent will have supervisory responsibilities as well as provide audio, video, computer and other control hardware and software; ensure that equipment remains functional and will also provide training and operation assistance to faculty, staff and student users.
Minimum Requirements:
Associates degree and four years of experience, with at minimum two years of supervisor experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Some Experience in A/V system support, customer support and training support
Knowledge of audio-video terminology
Ability to move large objects over 50 pounds stand for prolonged periods of time.

Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related discipline and at least six of experience to include at least three years of supervisory experience
Four years audio-video installation experience
Crestron certification or similar A/V certification
InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)

On-Call Supervisor every other weekend and contact for Sunday staff support\backup.

This position includes the full scope of managerial responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training coordination, work assignments, scheduling, classroom coverage, enforcing policies and procedures, employee engagement, performance and development, leading departmental meetings, communicating priorities and sharing information and engaging employees in improvement discussions. Provides project management and guidance for new classrooms or renovation projects.

Must have technical expertise for optimal performance of existing or new technical equipment, be able to troubleshoot classroom equipment. Ability to load programs and familiarity with the Crestron Program environment and ability to troubleshoot Crestron Control Systems, A/V and other peripherals and have database skills.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Microsoft Office Suite. Database management, Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors in a variety of situations or requiring customized technical support.
