Position Summary:

The successful applicant will teach both foundational and specialty counseling courses for the Ed.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of clinical training experiences
  • Student advising; scholarly activity presented to national and/or international forums and published in peer-reviewed journals
  • Leadership in developing clinical counseling partnerships with community clinical settings; and service within the university, the community, and professional organizations
  • Participate in working to obtain, and then maintain, CACREP accreditation
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of, or experience, with accreditation process is desirable.

Must be a Registered Play Therapist or Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor Credential.

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
Most graduate courses in counseling are taught in evening hours.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Other:

The successful applicant will work cooperatively with faculty in the other degree programs within the department and will work closely with interns, internship site supervisors, and help to develop partnerships with clinical settings within the local community.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, with expertise in clinical mental health counseling. ABD may be considered.

Should be licensed as a professional counselor, or licensed eligible, in the state of Arkansas. Experience, or certification, as a play therapist required. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
