This position is primarily to assist, as part of an instructional team, with the delivery of a corporate training contract. This corporate training contract is for the delivery of a two week, hands-on training course in mechanical assembly. Training will be delivered every two weeks from now until June 30, 2019 and beyond. The instructional team needs to have previous experience in mechanical assembly either in a manufacturing firm or as an instructor. The training delivery is hands on and the instructional team needs to be able to demonstrate to participants the proper use of common tools used in general mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment such as torque wrenches, lock wire/safety cables, screw thread inserts, leg plugs, heat/freeze fittings, interference fits, O-ring installation. Instructors also need to be able to teach students how to read blueprints and effective measuring and tolerance techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As part of an instructional team, teach general mechanical assembly under an Aims non-credit corporate training contract to a group of ten employees every two weeks until June 30, 2019.
The instructor will be responsible for delivering classroom instruction as well as hands-on demonstrations on proper usage of basic tools used in mechanical assembly.
The instructor will be responsible for conducting and recording skill mastery demonstrations for each curriculum unit for each student.
The instructor will be responsible for completing daily course rosters and other course documentation .Functional Attributes of Job DutyMinimum Qualifications
Previous experience in general mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment or as an instructor at a community college, K-12 or similar organization. Experience using basic tools/equipment/processes in mechanical assembly such as torque wrenches, lock wire/safety cables, screw thread inserts, lee plugs, print reading, O-ring installation, heat/freeze fittings, primer epoxy mixing, drill press, measuring and tolerance.Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience teaching general mechanical assembly in a college environment. 3 + years of working in mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment. Experience teaching PLC and other industrial technology concepts.
