Vice Chair of Research, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Kentucky (https://pmr.med.uky.edu/) located in Lexington, KY is seeking a Vice Chair of Research (M.D./D.O. and/or PhD.) with experience in research related to the discipline of PM&R. The successful individual will be expected to develop a strategic plan to grow our research program in size and scope, facilitate the research education/participation of clinical faculty and residents, and contribute to the growing translational research platform of the University of Kentucky. Responsibilities will include conducting independent, externally funded research, administrative oversight of the research program, research mentoring, and participating in departmental, college and university service. It is preferred but not required that the applicant have experience in neurorehabilitation (spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and/or stroke), and/or more general PM&R such as cancer, musculoskeletal, and rehab outcomes. Priority will be placed on research strengths that complement existing priorities across the University of Kentucky. Depending on the research profile, an affiliated appointment in other colleges is possible. Program support includes multiple endowments for research faculty.

Academic appointment will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
