Scope of Job:
Refer to duties.

Description of Duties:
•Interprets (primarily voice to sign) for deaf and hard of hearing individuals in academic and designated work situations.
•Performs interpreting work in classrooms, labs, special events and other University related settings.
•Prepares for assignment by reviewing specific terminology and content related to assigned material.
•Assesses whether communication is being understood.
•Assists with registration, orientation, tours, and presentations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
•Serves as resource for information related to deaf and hard of hearing students.
•Performs related duties as required.

Supervision Received:
Supervision from assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
None.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree along with previous departmental experiences/training may be required.

Preferred Education:

Licenses/Certifications:
Specific training or certification may be required in assigned area. BEI Certification preferred.

Required Experience:
Previous experience in a similar position. Knowledge of personal computer, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software or specialized equipment based on assignment.

Working Conditions:
This assignment is for 19 hours per week and is scheduled for Monday - Friday, however, schedule may vary.

This is a part-time temporary assignment, non-benefits eligible.
