The Department of Population Health Sciences (DPHS) in the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University (AU) invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Epidemiology at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.We are seeking an exceptional individual with distinguished record of research, teaching, collaboration and mentoring. Candidates must also have a strong record of extramural funding support and excellent communications skills.  The successful applicant may also have the opportunity to take the leadership role to build and sustain reputable training and research programs in Epidemiology.

Department Marketing Statement  

The newly established DPHS strives to build a transdisciplinary research infrastructure, educational programs and community partnerships to improve the health of all populations. It is the home of the Georgia Prevention Institute, which has over a thirty five year history of active research programs in areas including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, fitness, kidney diseases, lung diseases, minority health, nutrition, stress and substance abuse. The other two Divisions in the department are Biostatistics & Data Science and Epidemiology. The department currently offers Masters and a Doctoral programs in Biostatistics, Masters and a Certificate programs in Clinical and Translational Science, and plans to develop Masters and Doctoral programs in Epidemiology.   MCG, Georgia’s only public medical school, has a long tradition of excellence in education and clinical care. Founded in 1828, MCG is one of the nation’s first medical schools, the 8thlargest in the nation for total enrolment, and has helped enhance healthcare in Georgia and beyond through education, discovery and service. MCG has 22 academic departments, 940 medical students, 510 residents training in 48 programs and 776 faculty members. It is the founding college of AU, one of four research-intensive universities in the University System of Georgia. Other colleges at AU include the College of Allied Health Sciences, Dental College of Georgia, College of Nursing, Pamplin College of Arts and Humanities, Hull College of Business, College of Education, College of Science and Mathematics, School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, and the Graduate School.    Augusta, known as the “Garden City”, is a charming Southern city, located in the east central region along the banks of Savannah River. Minimum Requirements  

A PhD in Epidemiology or a closely related field is required.
